After the Praise The Lord , director Shibu Gangadharan has made Rudra Simhasanam. He joins hands with Sunil Parameshwaran who also wrote the script of the film to produce a tantric with Suresh Gopi in the lead.
All the ingredients of a thriller are included as beautiful women in traditional attire, superstitions, mysterious occurrences, powerful poojas etc. Though all these elements are present, there is lot of confusions and many elements override. Suresh Gopi, who presents the lead disappears every now and then and mystery surrounds about his role in the movie. The female cast including Nikki Galrani, Kaniha and Shewtha Menon has got not much to portray. They are used for making sensuous and provoking dialogues.
Though one is expected to watch many thrilling scenes, it only helps us to make our hair stand on its end with exasperation.
Many of the dialogues presented by Nedumudi Venu and Sudheer Karamana leaves us in sheer astonishment. The actors bring about inflated melodrama into equation that leaves a lot to be desired.
In Short, the film is a torture by any standard. The film lacks depth and succeeds in testing the patience of the audience. In Short, it is more like a fancy dress show with some unbearable loud music in the background.
Laila O Laila is a mix of a love story and suspence thriller set in the backdrop of the latest attraction- Bangalore. The romantic duos are presented by Mohanlal and Amala Paul. Tamil actor Satyraj plays a pivotal role in the film. Director Joshiy has brought together a wonderful set of actors including Joy Mathew, Rahul Dev, Vijay Menon etc. The Script is by Suresh Nair and Gopi Sunder is the Music Director.
This Movie is really a pathetic film which test our patience to the extreme limit. There are lots of attempts for emotional scenes. This scenes fails touch the sentiments of the audience. It tries to exhibit the confusion and stress of the character played by Mohanlal who lives two lives. He plays the role of super heroes rolled into one and tries to be a homebody for his peace- loving wife.
The story tries to highlight the horrors of terrorism but doesn’t reach the mark. Many villains are brought in from Bollywood and at the end of it all, none of them makes any real difference.
The film fails to give proper explanation as to the reason for bringing in the character named Laila played by Kainaat Arora to the forefront. So within the chaos the story fails to capture the imagination and interest of the audience. By the end, the result is a bit tiring.
Director Lal Jose has the reputation of bringing many new faces who has proven their mettle threforth. As such Ann Augustine was introduced in his "Elsamma Enna Aunkutti". Through Nee-Na, he introduced Deepti Sati. Vijay Babu plays a vital role in the movie. Nee-Na is scripted by ad film maker R. Venugopal. Jomon T John does the cinematography. Music is by Nikhil J Menon.
It was a much- talked about Movie of Lal Jose. Human mind has many hidden faces and emotions have more to it than which meets the eye. Nee-Na projects women in an extraordinary light. The new comer- Deepthi Sati- has made her debut remarkable, with great performance.
Vijay Babu has done credit to his characters by exhibiting many emotional scenes with great aplob. The story once again reveals the importance of family in each person’s life. The first half is engaging with many interesting developments in the plot. But the second half looks more like a documentary. But still, there is the element of versatility in the subject matter. Chemban Vinod Jose is proving his indispensability by choosing different characters and executing them differently. This is definitely a onetime watchable movie.
Director Shajoon Karyal has narrated a very ordinary story. Jayaram plays the role os a parallel college owner who is one to earn any degree from any university for those who approaches him with bribe. He is brought up two aunts who are both rich and spinsters.
The Script is by S. Suresh Babu, Music is composed by Mejo John, Azhakappan is the cinematographer.
The feminine characters of the movie does not have much impact. Seema, Honey Rose and Rohini fails to leave an imprint in the minds of the audience. Jayaram is just his very usual self. The film suffers from an extremely script. It fails to astonish the audience. The film has many familiar elements and fails to impress the audience.
This film just adds to the number list of Jayaram’s chart. Otherthan the film fails to make a work.
This movie is directed by Sidharth Bharathan. It is his Second feature film after Nidra ( 2012 ).
The movie is about Chandramohan ( Dileep ) who lives a dissatisfied life under the clutches of his possessive wife Sushama ( Anusree ). With his Job-related transfer, he enjoys his freedom and recreates bachelor hood which paves the way for further problems.
Though astrology evokes laughter in many occasions, it becomes tiresome after some repetitions. The performances of Anusree and Namitha are applaudable.
After a series of flops, this is a breath of relief for Dileep. He has done well in his own turf-comedy.
Mukesh, Suraj, KPAC Lalitha, Chemban Vinod etc. have done their own characters as per the instructions of the director.
After a string of disappointing attempts in slapstick humor, Dileep has finally hit the mark with Chandrettan Evideya. Dileep plays his role with the right balance of humor and seriousness. Anusree impresses us with her measured performance. In short, it is a family entertainer which brings back memories of old Dileep.
Director Saji Surendran has ateempted a comedy entertainer casting Anoop Menon and Kavya Madhavan as the lead. Taxi driver Devayani ( Kavya ) is street – smart. She overcomes many challenges in her profession. On One of her trips , She runs into Joe ( Anoop ) . They share a common past which is full of misunderstandings and doubt. Their chance meeting and further incidents leads to the unraveling of the past mystery.
In short, Saji has attempted to say a love tale that is interwoven into the midst of the missing painting mystery that involves Devayani and Joe. A Lot of scenes lack continuity and meaning. The unusual humorous scenes and gags expected from Saji are totally lacking. The cooked up Jokes fails to entertain the audience. Though rich with comedians including Suraj, TIni Tom, Noby etc. their antics leave a lot to be desired.
Even Bijibals music and Prasanna’s Choreography fails to impress the audience. In short, She Taxi fails to satisfy the expectations of the audience.
After great hue and cry Uthama Villain has been released among a full house. It is a emotionally- moving drama movie. It features Pooja kumar , Urvasi, Andrea along with the Legendary Actor and Director K. Balachander
In the film, Kamal plays an 8th century theatre artist and a modern-day superstar. It is directed by actor Ramesh Aravind.
Superstar Manoranjan( Kamal) is insecure and arrogant. He is adored by all. He has a private life. The story takes a turn when Manoranjan is daigonised by severe brain tumor. Now he nurtures a secret wish. He wants to go back to his mentor ( K. Balachander ) and do a film and there by render himself immortal. Thus starts the film within the film.
Though some of the scenes are very touching and engaging, the first half of the movie is a bit dragging. Post Interval, the movie picks up momentum.
It is undoubtedly a Kamal show all the way. The actor Outshines himself as both an ego bloated Manoranjan and a simple Uthaman. Kamal’s screen presence pulls us from many lagging aspects and can be enjoyed only in parts. In short the film is about the life of a superstar with and without a mask.
Even before its release there was a huge hue and cry about the film. So it was released among great expectations. Director Siddhique and Mammootty are famous for their hits Hitler and Chronic Bachelor. It can be shortly said that he duo has appeared the expectations of the audience to a large extent.
Bhasker, a self-made millionare is a widower with a son. He is an uncouth man with a rough exterior. Aadhi is the pivot of Bhaskar’s family. His schoolmate Shivani is very close to his heart. Shivani is a fatherless child. The Special bonding of the children forms the rest of the plot.
The wonderful drama is carried on well by Mammootty and Nayanthara . Nayanthara looks beautiful and has equal space to present her character. The situation comedy is intresting. Screenplay and Cinematography is good. Bollywood actor Chakaravarthy did justice to his billing as an actor of talent.
The film Suits all type of film lovers, especially family audiences as it is a good comedy entertainer. Janardhanan, Harisree Asokan, Kalabhavan Shajon and Saju Navodhaya were all true to their characters. The movie is worth a watch.
Roopesh Peethambaran has carefully depicted the story of the bonding shared between two brothers- Hari ( Sreenivasan ) and Abhi ( Asif Ali ) As the two brothers growup without parents, their attachment is also very intense.
But when Abhi falls in love , Hari refuses to give his consent. The story then goes through their various skirmishes. At least we can see the brothers getting re-united.
Roopesh has directed this comedy entertainer in such a way that it appeals to the common people. It is entirely different from his earlier film- Theevram- both in the way of direction and the theme.
There are mainly 6 characters in the film – Sreenivasan, AsifAli, Honey Rose, Rachana Narayanankutty , Tovino Thomas and Ahammad Siddique. Each Characters have their own stories to tell . The Stories are blended together and is brought to the climax, where issues are resolved.
The movie doesn’t have a brilliant story, but shows some realistic life. Each character of the movie has got important role to perform. The various characters raised the expectations of the audience and the film fails to satisfy them.
Swaroop Philips cinematography works get good reviews.Roby Abraham’s music was also handled well.
The first attempt of Jenuse Mohamed has surely reaped good results. There arenot so many characters in the movie. It moves around 3 central characters in the movie – Dulquer, Nithya and Shekhar. It is about a chance meeting that becomes the turning point in one’s life.
The movie highlights the romance flair of the people of 1980’s and of New Generation . The lady lead played by Nithya is a practical girl who finds true love towards the end of the story.
The attraction of the film is that we can easily connect with the characters. They are live people who we meet in our day-to-day life. It Shows the typical urban generation and their thoughts and feelings about the various phases of crisis they pass through.
Jenuse has succeeded quite well in bringing the characters to life in the way in which hehad visualized them. His Own interst and dedication could be felt in each frame of the film.
The Onscreen chemistry between Dulquer and Nithya was quite astonishing. The comic timing of Shekhar Menon is quite good . Aju, Jacob, Praveena, Vineeth etc had performed their characters quite.
The camera works beautifully around the colours and frames depicting Bangaluru. Bijibal’s music fits the bill. Usually every love story is about self-discovery and when one falls in love, it means that one should rise in life. How life assumes a different dimension when love levitates it is the story of 100 Days Of Love . It is a feel good movie.
Director James Albert has done a beachside romance for his debut film. "Mariyam Mukku" starring Fahad Fazil and Sana Althaf. Such locations create a perfect ambience for a romantic tit-tat. It portrays the budding love of two youngsters from a fishing community. After a series of incidents the male lead is forced to choose between his love or the person who adopted him. This forms the crux of the story.
Fahad has done his work as rough, yet loving villager. The female lead, though new performs well. The film is rich with other cast which includes Mnoj.k Jayan , Prathap Pothan, Irshad etc. The movie makes an impressive beginning, but fails to keep up the momentum. The scripts becomes a bit confused in between as the director hesitates to choose between a full –length romantic film or to add more drama elements to it. So the dramatic element overlaps the romantic factor and thus looses the grip over the audience. The sequence which follows are more predictable and it paves the way to destroy the feel of the movie.
The promising scripts of the director made great expectations among the audience and thus fails to meet their requirements from a film. Mariyam Mukku is a case of extreme paradox where the viewers are left in a dilemma. The songs and cinematography are passable. It gets the grade of an average movie.
After the huge success of “ Traffic “ Rajesh Pillai’s Mili was a much awaited movie. But though the film has a message to deliver, it fails to reach up to the expectations of the audience.
The title role played by Amala Paul is an introvert. Though the performance of Amala can be appreciated, there is no surprise element in the film. The charmer that is usually visible in Nivin pauly’s characters is totally missing and he is doing only a minimal role. The character portrayal of Amala is done well, when she struggles hard to meet other people’s expectations. The character slowely emerges from its cocoon of low self-confidence. The inferiority of the character is touching.
Rajesh Pillai’s captures the imagination of the audience and he has the good support of the script by Mahesh Narayanan . But the main factor is that the audience can anticipate the outcome earlier itself. The buildup of the first half of the movie doesn’t reach upto the mark to boost up the second half. Each characters including Saikumar have done their roles well.
All in all, Mili tries to be a film which motivates the people. But fails to do so. Technically Mili is good. Anish lal’s neat eye pleasing frames suit the mood of the story very well. On the whole , there is nothing neither terrible about the movie nor anything impressive about it.
Picket 43 can be safely assumed as the comeback film for Major Ravi. In the matter of military films, Major Ravi is considered to be one among the best directors.
Apart from being a military film, Picket 43 doesn’t have other similarities. It doesn’t have a lot of gun fire and war scenes. It is about the story of a friendship between an Indian soldier and a Pakistan soldier and their own effort to save the peace among both countries. The backbone of the film is definitely the performance of Prithviraj and Javed Jeffrey. They have successfully portrayed the suffering, courage, conviction and dedication of our soldiers. The people should become conscious about the futility of wars and the true heroism of our soldiers.
Picket 43 narrates the tale of an unlikely friendship between an Indian Soldier and his Pakistani counterpart in the remote outpost in the snow – clad hills on Line of Control. The focus is on the emotional turmoil of a soldier’s job. It is the story of love and compassion and throws light on the humanitarian sides of soldiers of two countries.
Major Ravi successfully brings out the mental conflicts of soldiers. Javed Jaffrey gets many positive responses and the performance of Prithviraj is also well applauded. The beauty of the location becomes more prominent through the nens of Jomon. T. John. Ranji Paniker. Along with rest of the cast have done their work well. The military dog (passed away) also does a memorable show of skills. Picket 43 can be included in the "must-see" list of films.
It is the latest offering from popular star Jayasurya which is scripted and directed by Akku Akbar. The film is about Mathai, who is a person who pokes his head unnecessarily in the affairs of other people. It lead to many situations which where both comic and serious.
Bhama, Mukesh, Lekshmi Gopalawamy etc appears in pivotal roles. Akku Akbar has also done the script of the film. The interference of Jayasurya in the lives of Mukesh and Lekshmi Gopalawamy leads to some hilarious incidents which forms the crux of the story. Sreejith Ravi deserves a special reference for his wonderful performance.
But the flow of the film is generally affected by so many repetitions. The theme of the film is also nothing new. Jayasurya has done similar roles in many of his earlier films also. Bhama is now on an experimental round and is attempting different roles in Malayalam and Tamil Movies. Her efforts are getting recognition also. Lekshmi Gopalawamy is one who divides her time for dance and films. The performance of the actors is praiseworthy but lacks the thread work to join the work efforts together. It reasons with the saying that equals "Putting Old Wine in a new Bottle".
We can see a lot of directors debuting now a day. Likewise Benny Joseph has succeeded in doing a family entertainer along with the crew consisting mainly of Jayaram, Asif Ali, Kaniha, Madhu, Meera Nandan etc.
The story is set in the ancestral home of a Muslim family and the complexities of relationships and people who are part of it. Jayaram plays Mammootty and delivers an energetic performance.
It has been a dull phase for Jayaram. But through this film Jayaram bounces back with his exuberant performance. Asif Ali captures the audience with his energy – packed act. Both the female leads- kaniha and Meera Nandan easily charms the audience.
Along with them the others who enrich the film includes Siddique, Saikumar, Kailash, Sadiq, Baburaj, Kalabhavan Shajon etc.
The movie is a perfect entertainer and the script perfectly blends all the ingredients needed for a family entertainer.Thought the story or the theme is nothing new Benny succeeds in bringing a freshness and attraction to the way of narration. The joint-family themes usually interests the viewers and this is one which can be watched together with the family.
Though Angels is the debut movie of Director Jean Markose , he has proved his mettle. The film starring Indrajith, Joy Mathew, Asha Sarath, Baiju etc have done well. Indrajith comes as a brilliant police officer who loses his image among the Co-workers due to injuries and subsequent delay from proving a crime and finding the Culprit.
He never loses faith in himself. With the strong support of his own family he goes through his own ways and means to reveal the big and ugly truth behind the crime.
We have heard a lot about several crimes connected with hospitals and attempts to prove it. This is also one thought provoking crime and the investigation that goes behind it.
The story unfolds slowly. The supporting actors are fine in their own respective roles. Jean Markose makes a convincing directorial debut and has done a decent job in holding the audience to their seats to the end. The cinematography by Sujith Sarang was very good as it created the mood of the film very well with its colour tone and angels. People who love thrillers will surely like this one from Jean Markose and team.
Anwar Sadik has attempted his directorial venture with Vineeth Srenivasan and Namitha Peamod in lead roles. The added attraction of the film is the inclusion of yesterdays heroines like Lekshmi, Rohini, Anju Aravind.
As usual, Vineeth Sreenivasan appears in a very soft character. He does comparitevely well in the lead player. Namitha Pramod is an upcoming actress who has yet to prove her mettle completely.
The film has the theme that makes us remember other movies too. The chemistry between the lead pair has not worked well as to be expected. Not only that, many scenes are quite repetitive and make it boring for the viewers.
Aju Varghese has done well as Vineeth’s best pal. The filmscenes depicts the scenes from an ordinary play. The musical love story is a familiar tale of romance which fails to reach upto the expected mark. But other actors like Sou, Mukesh, Edvela Babu, Muktha etc. have done their parts well. The basic storyline of the movie is feeble. SO in short, it does not give the director much to explore with and results in dull effects
After many falls in recent years, Mamootty makes a comeback through Varsham. Ranjith Shankar faithfully portrayers various aspects of the central character Venu made brilliant by Mammootty.
Mammootty is a talented business man. He is married to a typical housewife played by Asha Sharath. The live a careful, happy life, dreaming about the bright future of their son.
The film follows the pattern of the movies of early 1970’s and 80;s. Likewise Varsham is also following the conventional style with few surprises. Though Mammooty has emoted lot of emotional dramas so many times in the past, Mammooty makes the anguish of a father disturbingly real. Asha Sharath supports Mammootty with good grace.
Varsham is a tale of resilience and a tearful chronicle of benevolence. Varsham can be aptly described as a slice of life. Mamtha Mohandas also does a credible performance. Varsham is a change from the usual movies that has been offered recently to Malayalam audience. The film explores the possibilities of human life and psyche. The film has made a conscious effort to convey the desired message and concept through some easy dialogues and situations which proms satirical efforts.
Amal Neerad has proved his mettle as a director early itself. It has been under a lot of speculations about the combining of young veteran actor Fahad Fasil along with Amal. The film also marks the production debut of Fahad.
The handipicked star cast outshines eachother and is custom made for their own particular roles portrayed by Lal, Fahad, Jayasurya, Padmapriya, Chemban vinod, Jinu Joseph, Isha Sherwani, Lena, Reenu etc.
Amal Neerad is also handling the cinematography and is certainly a visual treat. The visuals keeps the audience enthralled.
The story starts from the period of pre- independence era. It revolves around the life of an Indian slave- Iyob- portrayed by Lal. Things change when his children grown up. The soft-vilain is performed by Jayasurya. Amala Paul surprises the audience with her item number.
The difference in the presentation of the story is also its narration. The brilliant direction of Amal takes the audience to the world where the story is happening and makes them feel that they are a part of the story too. The fil scored well as something special from a highly talented group of young people. Munaar is the main location, where the story is said to be happening. Iyyobinte Pustakam shows that Amal has really gone miles forward as a director and have a great future in the chosen field. Fahad’s strong support for the script also has got justice and applause.
Of all the released films for Onam , it was Prithwiraj starrer SapthmaSree Thaskaraha which topped the list. So naturally the expectation about his next film was also rampant. So maybe beforehand itself Damaar Padaar had to face lot of expectations.
But it has failed to meet the audience expectations. It is the debutant attempt of Director Dileesh Nair. It has been termed as satirical comedy. Usually Police roles suits Prithwiraj, and he has done upright police officers.
But in this film, Prithwiraj has been featured as a comic hero, who is but a police officer. But the actor is not known much for his slapstick comedy. He does the role of a self- effacing duty oriented man. The story also goes around the life of two circus artists.
Baburaj, Chemban Vinod, Shrinda, Maniyanpillai Raju, Vijay Babu also plays prominent roles in the film. But the main defect of the movie is the extremely weak and logic less story line. This movie fails to create an impact. Moreover the movie drags from the beginning itself.
Though the cinematography is fine, the editing doesn’t meet the standard as the movie falls completely out of rhythm. The background music of Bijibal also scores well. But in short, Damaar Padaar is a total disappointment for Prithwi fans as well as for the movie lovers.
Anoop Kannan became noticeable after his JAwaan of Vellimala. After that, he has been now busy with a film about youth and youngsters. For a change, Anoop has made a hero, who is totaaly different from our imagination of the concept of a hero. Thus TV anchor Vipin Atlee becomes the lead for Homely Meals.
Shrinda Ashab comes as a fashionable youngster for a change. The film is a get together of the people of old and new generation which includes Nedumudi Venu, Manoj K Jayan, Kailash, Sreejith Ravi etc.
Dreams can also become real. But we have to be prepared to take consequences even if it is positive or negative. Alen hails from Kochi. He dreams of cinema and produces a show named Homely Meals. Then the movie revolves around the hardships that Alen has to face.
The teasers of Homely Meals had got good positive vibes. There is a lot of freshness in its theme and presentations. It satisfies the people urge for humour, twist and suspense. This touching movie explores concepts of dreams and passions of the modern-day youth and how they deal with life.
The rest of the cast and crew have also done their work well. The music of Bijibal is also quite pleasing for the listeners. In short, Homely Meals is quite an unexpected treat for the viewers who are always in the lookout for change and freshness in the way of presentation.
Director Santhosh Nair has attempted to make a story worthy of Fahad Fasil, Niveda Thomas, Renji Panikkar, Joju Goerge, Sasi Kalinga, Kochu preman, Sunil Sukhada etc. But how far has it been successful attempt is a doubtful question.
The presentation is different as it set in the time limit of 24 hours. Fahad misses his regular bus and enters a nearby bar to have a drink. Then follow a string of unexpected things. The different and subsequent tales are blended together to form a light-veined entertainer.
One of the prominent banners of Mollywood – Century films – has been in the field for last 3 decaes. Money Ratnam is their 100th film. This movie is a thoroughly enjoyable fun ride for those who are on the lookout for some entertainment. The former half of the movie is better. The climax has also no unexpected twists or turns.
The whole cast have done their jobs in a very satisfactory way. This movie will suit the taste of lovers of light comedies and thrillers. Santhosh Nair succeeds in keeping the film funny and somewhat normal. Cinematographer, Editor, Sound Designer and Fight master deserves special merit. Moreover fahad fas well projected different emotions and the change of character like the carelessness, fear, panic etc. Santhosh Nair turns the film into certain level of non-cheery preaching, without losing the comic mood of the film as a whole.
Director Jibu Jacob narrates the story of a rural politician and his ideologies quite humorously. Biju menon plays the role of a 41 year old Mamachen who is tied in family issues and tussles. He remains a bachelor. His father was a social activist who left his family with huge debt. Mamachen entry into politics was not a planned one. This unforeseen incident leaves huge impact in his life and the subsequent events are narrated in a humorous way.
Asif Ali, Niki Galrani also comes into the lead roles along with Bijumenon. Along with them Aju Varghese, Lena, Kalabhavan Shajon, TiniTom, Siddique have a good performance. Though the film is cinematographer Jibu Jacob’s debut directorial venture, the film has received many positive vibes from the audience. Cinematographer Vishnu Narayan, Music director Bijubal, lyricist’s santhosh varma and Rajeev Nair have done creditable works.
The positive highlight of the movie is good comedy situation and story narration. The script offers lot of fun moments. Moreover, the humour is in a sensible level so as to make it less comical. Jibu Jacob has succeeded in giving a good family entertainer for our viewers. Vellimoonga is an extremely pleasing look back to conventional Malayalam cinema.
Director Madhu Kaithaparam tells the story of a man who is an Indian working in Muscat through his film Velivelichathil. The film tries to portray what is like to live in a foreign land. The director tries to capture the aspirations and the struggles of the men and women who work there.
The story centres on the businessman ( John Brittas ) who falls for a bar dancer ( Ineya ) . It is the debut of the media person John Brittas in lead. The director has portrayed the golden heart of the protagonist through amateurish acts of comparison. These acts are then acclaimed as godly acts by fellow characters around him.
Ineya plays the role of the dancer who leads the hero in the bar. The subsequent scenes and story becomes a bit confusing. On the whole it is a poor, jarring and failed attempt of the director to bring out a worthy movie.
On the basis of T P Rajeevan’s novel K T N Kottor- Ezhuthum Jeevithavum, Ranjith has made a beautiful film- "Njan" with Dulquer Salman in the lead role. Though the term "Njan" is used a lot in our day- to – day conversations, the term has got lot of inner meanings and significance as depicted in the film
Though based on a novel, Ranjith has successfully managed to bring out the psychological aspect of human behavior in a social set-up. Dulquer Salman can be credited for his mature performance. He has been criticized for his stereotype roles of a common and typical urban youth. But through "Njan" Dulquer has revealed his caliber as a performer with hidden talents yet to be utilised completely.
The film is a combined success of all actors’ performances together Renji Paniker showed his mettle as a negative character. As well as a director, he has proved to be an actor too.
Suresh Krishna, Hareesh Perady , Muthumani Somasundaram, Anumol, Jyothi Krishna, Shruthy Saiji, Joy Mathew have all made their characters standout individually with their performance. O all the women characters, Muthumani Somasundaram standsout with her unique performance as Kottur’s aunt. The freedom fight and the beauty of kerala state have been perfectly depicted. Though lacking in commercial aspect in overall the movie has good pace, intensity and depth.
Chandrahaasan has directed this film with cast consisting of Deepak, Sruthi Menon and Sudeep. The film persistently displays a timeline just before almost every scene. Most often, there timelines are inconsequential. The bulky assemblages of scenes are overtly stacked with emotional relationships, revenge, guilt and penance. But they fail to hold their own place.
The lead characterin this movie has to wear a heavy jacket of virtues that it in itself makes the character unbelievable. The story goes in such a way that at every juncture, a subplot or a rewind is anticipated. John paul( Deepak) turns up for an interview for the post of an estate manager. But he soon discovers that his new employer holds a grudge against his father.
Later he readies himself for a bone-marrow transplant for his employer’s daughter with such easiness that we think that it is an everyday occurance. The unbelievable sequence follows- the character undergoes bone-marrow transplant, almost slips into coma, wakes up fresh and fit in the morning, months a few goodies and simply walks off.
Basicallly the film is about a youth who bumps into a man nurses a grudge against his father and how he leads a group of characters along the virtual path of transformation.
Director Venu has made a thriller casting veteran actors Mammootty and Aparna Gopinath in the lead. The film basically moves around a prisoner and a journalist who tries to unravel the air of mystery that sorrounds him. Mammootty plays the role of a convicted of double homicide, a prisoner who refuses to leave prison even after he has served his sentence. Munnariyippu is a good example of simple earnest film making. It exhibits thrilling and tense sequences between a mysterious prisoner and a curious journalist.
Aparna takes up the role of a freelance journalist who incidentally chances upon a person called Raghavan ( Mammootty). The pursuit of truth- whether raghavan was guilty or not, whether he was a victim of false judgement has been portrayed in a successful manner. Aparna carries with her a sense of calm, brings out beautifully the ambitious of a journalist and vivacious nature.
Mammootty succeeds in building up the mystery with a swath of innocence, touches of philosophy and the weakness of a lover. Munnariyippu might not go well with a section of viewers, but this is a good example for the making of a smart film.
The simplicity of the script and its smooth nature means that there is so much for the cast to accomplish on screen and they have done justice to their own respective roles.
This movie is Dileep’s seventh collaboration with director Joshiy. This is an action packed thriller movie where the leads are palyed by Dileep and Lakshmi Menon. The movie revolves around an educated youth from a small village of Idukki, Who comes to Kochi to stay with his brother’s family, after his brother’s sudden death. His brother was a coustoms officer (Ganesh). The mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of his brother makes Dileep go for an investigation by himself to find the truth.
In the meantime, he falls in love with an insurance agent played by Lakshmi Menon. DIleep as usual excels in comedy sequences. He delivers an energy packed performance. The heroine Lakshmi is an established actress of tamil movie industry. Her debut in malayalam has been charming and she fits completely into her character. Rest of the cast- Shammi Thilakan, Sreejaya, Shajon, Sijoy etc has performed well too.
Though the films claims to be a mass entertainer, the subject is repetitive, and as such fails to captive the interest of the audience. But basically "Avatharam" is a simple family story incorporated with humorous situations. Hitmaker Joshiy, had tasted back-to-back failures with his recent films. This is an attempt to get back in form, though didn’t completely reach upto the mark.
Manglish is a comedy entertainer in which megastar Mammootty and Netherland actress Caroline Bech plays the lead role. It is the second film of Salaam Bappu after Redwine.
Manglish is the story of a fish dealer who is very popular in the Cochin harbor. He is loved by many. There comes a twist and turn in the story when the romantic element is introduced.
The language barrier that exists between Mammootty and Caroline has been projected in a humorous way. Mammootty knows only Malayalam and caroline knows only English. Caroline has got some objectives to attain. For this, she wants to get the help of Mammootty. But her motive is very secret that she doesn’t want a third party to be aware of it.
The interesting events that happen in their life when they try to communicate with each other is the main highlight of this film. But on the whole, it seems us that we can remember some incidents in the film from early times or from mammootty’s previous movies itself. So generally Manglish is quite an ordinary movie. Though, in between few moments are quite interesting, it fails to leave any lasting impression in the minds of the audience.
The music of Gopi Sunder is commendable. The camera work of Pradeesh Varma also deserves special mention as it projects cochi in its true splendor and beauty.
There was a lot of expectations about ( Lal Junior) Jean Paul after his Honey Bee. So he had gone for an entirely different genre of movie than his previous one.
Asif Ali and Mia have done a tremendous work through this Psycho- thriller movie. Along with them, Lal , Biju Menon and Lena have made their own marks in this thriller.
The luxury flat where Asif and Mia lives also holds special place in this psycho thriller. The suspense and drama that unfolds slowly makes the people captive to the show. The dread, intrigue, the tension that reveals itself bit by bit enthralls the audience.
The number of character in this movie is far less comparatively. But their impact is huge. The hard work that has gone into its making is clearly evident. The technical aspect of the movie is also praise-worthy.
The mettle of Lal has been proved once again. The psychopath can be portrayed by none else so effectively. The emotions displayed by Lal have been highlighted effectively by his booming voice. The computer graphics in the movie also captures our attention. The movie has momentum, upholds the suspense and helps to thrill the audience.
It is really a tremendous treat prepared together by director laljose and script writer Iqbal Kuttipuram. The film projects the relation between two friends – Vikram and Adithyan and the moodwings along with the highsand lows that happens in their life.
The movie is definitely youth centric. Both Dulquer and Unnimukundan have done a wonderful performance in the movie. The female lead played by Namitha is quite impressive. Though the movie is a good entertainer, it is also one which is quite thought-provoking.
The problems and patch-ups that occurs in everday lives of common friends can be discussed after watching this movie. The screen presence of Dulquer is very impressive. His character has been made very likeable by his own small contributions. Though Nivin Pauly comes only for a short time, his character stays in the minds of the audience.
Overall, the film along with its music, art and beautiful cinematography makes the movie worth watching. The chemistry between the heroes and their attitude to do subjects with more than one heroes will be a definite boost for the industry, as well as a delectable treat for the audience.
It is a comedy movie directed by debutant Santhosh Khan, in which Aju Varghese play the lead role along with Bhagath Manuel. The cast includes Premkumar, Archana Kavi, Maniyanpilla Raju.
The forum of "Malarvadi Arts Club" has been continued in this film. Aju palys the title role for the first time and has portrayed his character in a successful manner. In this, the hero reaches a city, where his friends reside and he enjoys the city life which becomes the turningpoint of the movie.
But the script of the movie fails to hold the attention of audience. The former half is uneventful and the second half is dull. There is also not mutch to be looked upon as anticipatory factor too.
Vinu Uday has handled the music direction well. Deepthi, who is the daughter of the former actress Sumithra has shared the screen space with Archana Kavi. Along with her daughter, Sumithra also does a character in this film. Though, it has tried to attract the youth, the film just fails to reach its mark.
It is a movie featuring Srenath Bhasi, Shekhar menon, Mumbai based model Avana etc. Sanju, Dominic, Harikrishnaraj plays the leading roles. Manoj K Jayan, Parvathy, etc. include the cast list. Then starts the trouble for thulasidharan as his daughter falls in love with one of them. The foursome fails to play the rent, thus adding to the woes of thulasidharan.
Director Vishnuprasad has made a bold attempt to capture the attention of the modern youngsters and it has well appreciaited . The intriguing plot of the youngsters and following comic timing and chemistry of all cast together is a plus for the movie. All the cast members have done really well.
The story was also written by Vishnu Prasad. The camera work of Mahesh Raj is also Praiseworthy. The fun and entertainment mood of the film has been projected well. Music composer Bijilal has given variety tunes for all the songs. Though "Beware of Dogs" canbe included in the category of young entertaining movie, it can definitely be enjoyed by all categories of people, without a lot of expectations.

The couple escapes to Mumbai. Things become worse, when they start a new life and how they settle their ego clash is the main crux of the movie.
Though the theme is a known one, the way Saji carries the movie makes it stand apart. Usually the film ends in a fairy tale ending which says that- They married and lived happily ever after. But here, the story begins after the ending in a usual way.
After the start for their life the realization that real life is not as sweet or fun as it was when they were in love is shown in a humorous way. The compatibility issues between the lovers turned married couple form the rest of the movie.
Saji and Krishna duo are known for comedy films like _ Ivar Vivahitharayal, Happy Husbands, Husbands in Goa etc. With this new project, they are back with a bang with a family drama narrated in a humorous way. The music of the film by the Bijilal has already made it to the hit charts of the year. The pairing of Anoop and Bhavana adds flavor to the film and strikes a chord with the audience. In Short, it is a fun filled family entertainer.
This is a humorous movie and is the directorial venture of vayalar Madhavan Kutty. Indrajith and Bhama play the lead pair. Murali Gopi and veteran actor Shankar play prominent roles.

The tiltle itself catches the attention of the audience. The chemistry of the lead is good. Overall performance of the complete cast is praise worthy. The people are kept to their seats due to the suspence element.
The film is produced by Gokulam Goplan and Gopi Sunder scores music for the movie. The story has got no confusing twists and turns and has a clear – cut plot. The Movie is entirely shot in Africa and showcase s the life and culture of African life. In short it is a humorous film about a womans drea of settling in America.
Koothara directed by Srinath Rajendran is a different experience for the youth with lively entertaining moments. The star cast is good which includes Mohanlal in a cameo role, Sunny wayne, Bharath, Tovino Thomas, Janani Iyer and Gauthami Nair.
Director Srinath Rajendran had surprised the malayalis with a rather unconventional debut- "Second Show". The orgin of the title of his next film Koothara has been discussed elaborately.
The movie revolves around the 3 college buddies- Koobrin, Tharun and Ram. It is about their college life of friendship, love and troubles in the first half. Then from the entrance of mohanlal in a crutial time, when the friends are facing difficult choices, Mohanlal rules the screens with his ravishing performance. Naturally it enhances the thrilling scenes.
The 3 friends have rendered a decent performance throughout the film. But the role of the female characters were minimal and not not- worthly. The movie is an entertainer for sure, but not to be watched with high expectations.
But the real hero is its craftsman Srinath Rajendran who was wonderful with his new treatment and visuals. Koothara is a movie scripted by Vini Vishwalal, which has made an attempt at satisfying every class of audiences.
Sanjeev Babu has attempted a thrilling entertainer for the spectators with a whole bunch of new comers. The movie is based on a love story revolving around a haunted house.
Anjali Menons Bangalore Days had created a lot of buzz, even before its release due to its wonderful star cast which includes- Dulquar Salman, Nivin Pauly, Fahad Fazil, Nazriya Nazim, Nithya and Parvathy. Anjali Menon has succeeded in meeting the expectations of the audience completely. The story rolls round the life of three cousins who passes on through different tough phases in their own personal lives- Arjun(Dulquar), Kuttan( Nivin) and Divya(Nazriya)
The cast has been chosen perfectly, moreover along with the young generation, the old generation also rocks. After a small gap, we could feel the great performance of Dulquar. The screen presence of Dulquar is awesome. The different factor was Parvathy who did a marvelous job. Fahad has got more opportunity in the 2nd half along with Nivin.
Anjali has approved her mettle both as a director and a scriptwriter. She succeeds in mixing all the right elements in correct proportion, which makes Bangalore Days a perfect family entertainer. The main highlight of the movie was Sameer Thahir’s frames. The songs and background score are also superb. In Short, Bangalore Days is a joyous trip you must not miss.
After the world wide acclaim got for "Yanthiran" the legend Rajanikanth is back in the 3D Avatar. The advance publicity and hype surrounding Kochadaiiyaan created lot of expectations among the audience. It is a 3D animated film.
The film is directed by superstar’s daughter Soundarya.R.Ashwin. Though technology usage is very advanced in Hollywood, it is the first attempt in a regional language in India. The credit for using the wide range of technology to our credit goes to Soundarya.
Rajanikanth is seen in a triple role. Along with him lot of veteran actors line up – Sarath kumar, Aadhi, Deepika Padukone, Shobhana, Nasser etc.
Actually Kochadaiiyaan is a simple story about the fight between good and evil. The difference is seen in the usage of latest animation and 3D technologies. But when compared with Hollywood movies, the film does not meet the expectations or give justification for the hype factor. The film also fails to satisfy the fans and followers of Rajani also. The effort and style of the Superstar has been depicted faithfully, but still the effect doesn’t reach up to the mark. The movie show cases Rajanikanth’s character larger than life.
Soundarya, knowing her father well has done a fine job as the way she used the technology to weave a character out of her father’s persona is commendable and well-balanced.
The return of malayalees favorite heroine has been in the news since months. Finally, the film has hits the screens overcoming 'various' odds.
Nirupama Rajeev is a Govt Employee, a loving wife and a caring mother. She is the representative of millions of Indian house wife/ working mothers who have kept their ambitions and dreams locked up for their families or their husbands.
Thanks to her male Chauvinistic husband, and an 'incident' that happens in her life, Nirupama is forced to take some stern decisions, which turn her life around.
'How Old Are You' has multiple layers that makes it a stand out film, at the same time stand alone with the recent women oriented, much celebrated films like English Vinglish and Queen. It is difficult for majority of women folks in our country to break the barriers they themselves or the society builds around them post marriage (even though the situation is changing). The firm remembers them to break shackles, chase the dreams, after all Age is just a number.
The first half moves largely at a leisurely pace with some nice humor (some cross too) thrown in the mix. It was breezy and entertaining. The Second half takes somewhat a serious tone and the pace drops a bit. But as a whole, the film is inspirational, emotional and entertaining. It is definitely worth watching.
Mohanlal plays a 'Fraud' Who has many names and many faces, a non sympathetic cunning hi-tech robber. He gets offered a job with enough money that he can very much retire after this. But it is not as easy as it seems and is one of the most difficult missions he has come across as the character says. The treasure belongs to an old kovilakam and they are going to open chest for the first time in 41years with all the relatives, police and top level private security team guarding it. So, will be able to do it forms the rest of the story.
Mr. Fraud is a heist movie presented in a mass masala packaging. The first half is racy and entertaining. It’s in the second half the movie suffers a bit. Totally it’s an above average 2nd half with an average, rushed up climax.
It can be called a one man show by mohanlal, after a long time Malayalees gets to see his mass entertainer side, which he did with elan. He carries the movie in his slanting shoulder. The rest of the cast did their role. Dev Gills villain character was a disappointment, as it was an underwritten role, the film could have had a better villain character.
Overall Mr. Fraud is a Mass- Heist movie must watch for fans one time watch for others. After 150 days of delivering class to the world, it’s time to give some Mass With class; in a good old lalettan way, which no one can replicate.
This is the remake of the Tamil hit "Naduvula Konjam Pakkathe Kaanom" released in 2012.Medulla Oblongata is a common name in our high school life. The firm actually revolves around the situations that arise when you lose your memory right before you were about to do something important. The movie is all about fun moments and friends trying to escape the situations that arise by getting hit on your Medulla Oblongata.
The director and script writer of the movie has successfully made the viewers laugh from the beginning to end. Each person has done their job magnificently. The performance of saiju kurup in the movie has caught everyone’s eye. He has successfully made "Saiju Kurup" a brand in the comedy market.
The movie kind of drags at some portions. Apart from that it is a good movie and fun to watch. The different concepts of friendship, trust , loyalty and sincerity in the life is highlighted.
The film makes us laugh but also reminds us of the good things in life. It’s a complete comedy entertainer. So for those who are planning to watch the movie, thinking it’s a small movie is going to change their opinion. In Short, if you want to spend few hours of your life laughing, this film is a sure bet.
The Last Supper is an adventurous movie. It revolves around the story of 3 close friends, who are from three different fields. They go for an adventurous journey to a
strange and mysterious place. In the course of their journey, they come across certain unexpected incidents which completely change their life. The following intriguing events are narrated in the last supper.
The last Supper is produced by Megastar Mammotty's makeup man S. George under the banner of Play House Release.
Actually, we don't know whether there is a genre called cinematic travelogue. It seems that the cast and crew of this cinematic mess were making merry in some forests
and then passed off certain footages of that as a film.. The film starts off abruptly and we are into the flick of action straightaway. Animals and birds depicted in the movie are graphically created and so any sense 0f novelty on that is also lost. Among actors no one distinguishes. Unni Mukundan flexes his muscles, but it remains to be seen how long he will survive on the basis of good looks. The film tries to be faithful to its title and the mystery in the end scenes just add to the misery of the viewer.
The New Generation superstar fahad Fazil has once again proven his merit. An eventful day is more than enough to provide inspiration for an imaginative film maker to conjure up a watchable flick. and when the narration holds forte and the premise is convincing, it could be a satisfying cinematic experience. Director Vasudev Sanal has just achieved that-make an emotional thriller, devoid of frills.
God's Own Country plots the story of 3 people who reach kochi with their own particular aims to be fulfilled. The story moves forward based on what happens to these 3 in their attempts to reach their destination. The movie has succeeded in keeping the people engaged very well in the first half. Fahad, lal and sreenivasan are the main highlighted characters in the film & have shown excellent performance. The supporters- nandu, Leena, Manikuttan, Vijaykumar have also done an applaud able work.
On an Overall, God’s Own Country, is an entertainer, with much of suspense element in it. One will not get bored for sure. The movie is worth your money. Go for the movie and be sure that you can get your money's worth.
Jayaram(Apooravan) is the self proclaimed scientist of a village. He is pretty much interested in inventing various things. Babumon(Kalabhavan Shajon) , his financial support and Chopra(Baburaj) his henchman are his close buddies. Even though many of the inventions are useful for the villagers, the three when join together create mess more than anything. So one day, the villagers are forced to kick them out of the village. The three thus end up in Rossamma's house, who is a millionaire. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Akku Akbar with Jayaram has given 2 family hits in the past; the producers gave the second biggest hit of the last year too. But when they united for a mad comic caper, the resultant product is an utter failure.
The film not only lacks a credible story line, but also is a disaster in the scripting department too. The acting too is over the top. Jayaram has tried palakkadan slang in the movie, but it does not reach up to the mark. Suraj often goes to unbearable levels. Isha Talwar had nothing much to do and her acting/lip sync hasn't improved much from her "Thattam" days.
Director has no clue about the proceeding and did a below average job. In short, this committee will rip apart your 'Ulsaham' and burn it on the floor.
It is a big budget- feel good movie in the backdrop of Lakshadweep starring Asif and sunny in lead, along with swathi and janani. Pivotal supporting roles played by Nedumudi Venu and Nishanth Sagar.
The plot of the movie very much fits to its name, which means two sword fish that are utterly selfish and are in the habit of attacking each other would unexpectedly met due to a big sea wave. The plot of adventurous comedy thriller unfolds two main characters portrayed by Asif Ali and Sunny Wayne. Both of these are very happy in their lines, but a twist in the tale brought them in an unexpected situation.
The unusual extravagant style in which saga of romance unveils is excellent, also the stunning performance of the cast is captivating. The first half is a bit confusing, but the second half keeps the pace. This entertainer package has suspense, romance, action, thrill, and drama that is able to entangle the audience in Mosayile Kuthira Meenukal saga.
All in all it is indeed a good attempt by the director. It is quite lagging in the beginning but, enthralls us in the second half. Watch it without much expectation. You will enjoy it!!
Kunchako Boban is a tough nut, a cunning, shifty, sneaky, scheming and downright sly of a lawyer, who goes to any lengths or do anything to win cases.[ But the movies has no thrill and apparently saga happens outside the court.]
The entry of a minor girl- Namitha as a client with a case that firstly seems to be easy, but with the pace of time, it becomes more and more complicated. While the case proceeds in the court and romance develops between the two; it makes many problems regarding professional and personal life of the lawyer.
Though the story is engaging and has a winsome script, the movie is not able to create much buzz. The cast is full of wonderful performers as Prathap Pothan, Nedumudi Venu, Balachandra Menon, K.P.C.A Lalitha, Suraj Venjaramoodu etc. But the scenes were rather unexciting. The cast could have been used in a better way. All in all, Law Point is Half Baked mystery/ thriller.
Masala Republic is a political satire movie directed by debutante Vishak G.S. Who has also written the story and dailogues of the movie. The star cast features Indrajith, Aparna Nair, Sunny Wayne, P. Balachandran, Captain Raju etc.
Indrajith is a police inspector and has made a number of enemies due to his strict actions against Law Offenders irrespective of their society status. Suspension and
transfer doesn't deter him from doing his job & for him they are part of his job.
As part of his new assignment , he has to curb the use of tobacco and Pan masala. So to rein the use of these , Indrajith imposes ban on them which causes problems
for commoners. Slowly, the political parties start using the ban for their political gains.
Vishak has done a commendable job as the movie delivers the message powerfully. The director has adequately used all the resources and has developed a very good
script. The comedy card is very intelligently used.
The acting performance of the lead actor Indrajith is very good as he flawlessly plays the role of an upright police officer . Aparna has got no significant part to project. The rest of the star cast has also done a decent job. Overall , masala Republic is a hilarious and interesting movie.
Balaji mohan is here with his new movie- Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram. This is a bilingual movie that is beeen simultaneously made and released in malayalam and Tamil. The movie which features Dulquer and Nazriya in leads, is all about the people of a town suffering from an unusual disease.
Story revolves around a small village named Thenmala. Dulquer is working as an sales executive of a private Gum Company. Suddenly one day, an unusual disease hits that village, which makes people dumb. Later Health Department issues a statement that the only way to prevent this disease is by stop talking. Rest of the story shows how people live without speaking and how they survive this disease forms the crux of the story.
Balaji Mohan has experimented with the movie with nice tale, but where he fails is in the presentation part. The second half of the movie will test your patience and
makes us decide the movie is worse. An average first half and a boring second half have made this a miserable watch.
On the whole , people will spaeak only for 15 minutes in the second half of the film. It seems to be half baked. Nazriya is impressive with her role. Remaining supportive actors like Madhubala, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Dinesh Nair and others have done justice to thier respective characters.
One By Two is equally engaging as well as insipid as it failed to camouflage the intriguing elements before it could hit a chord with audience.
Amidst the suspicious elements infringed around the death of a person in the bangalore city, forces Yousuff Marikkar ( Fahad Fazil) to intervene to the scenario. The relation between the other characters portrayal by Murali Gopi and Honey Rose further confuses the audience. Basically if a little more care was given to the filtering of unwanted elements, then undoubtedly the script could have turned out to be thoroughly enjoyable one.
Psychological thrillers are hard to conceive and harder to execute , because the margin of error is pretty negligible. It is a complicated plot which seeks to unravel the complex mental makeup of 2 characters and by extension of those around them. In short, One By Two bristles with enormous promise, but fails to bear fruitfully and some outstanding performances prove to be the sole saving grace. The movie is a daring attempt by Arun Kumar.
Director Shyamprasad proved his debut by playing the role of Psychiatrist Dr.Cheriyan.
It is an comedy family entertainer that stars Kunchacko Boban in an interesting role. Female lead bhavana doing the khaki for the first time. Guiness pakru is also a part of this film.
The film was most awaited for the appearance of Dakshayani Biscuits, the company that Mohanlal famously owned in the film "Midhunam".
In this, Kunchacko is a good samaritan who helps people. His father dies in a terrorist attack. So he becomes an entrepreneur. His political rival tries every means
to spoil his business and things turn worse when the hero falls for the villian's daughter.
Though there is right mixture of comedy and romance, the subject is rather old. It is a political satire. Though bhavana tries to emulate a tough character, the strenght is sadly lacking. Chackochan does credit to his role. But in a nut shell, it is slow to capture the interest of the audience.
7th Day is an action packed suspense thriller movie in which prithviraj and Janani Iyer plays the lead roles. Prithviraj comes in a new avathar with Salt and Pepper style as a middle aged suspended crime branch officer. The story line is in such a way that it captures the interest of the audience and holds it as such.
Though it is the debut picture of director Shyamdhar, he has done his work well. Though Prithviraj shines in police roles, the difference in the script and story makes
7th Day a thriller. Prithviraj has done full justice with his character. Though the female lead has got not much to do, Janai has proven her mettle in the small space.
The songs and background music keeps up with the suspense of the movie till climax. It is an excellent thriller with a super climax. All in all 7th Day has all the elements of a great entertainment masala movie.
Dilip as an animal trainer in circus have made ringmaster an out- an - out entertainer. Keerthi palys a blind girl in the movie. Honey Rose boldly does a negative shadecharacter.
Ring Master is Rafi's movie as an independent director after seperating from Mecartin. Popular comedy actor Dilip has done the role in his usual style. It captures the attention of family and children alike. The problems and sorting out the connecting mess tickles the humorous viens of the audience.
Dilip is supported by others as Mohan Jose, kalabhavan Shajon, Suraj Venjaranmoodu, Unda Pakru etc.
Rafi has done a good job in devolping a good script for the movie. The acting performance by the lead actor dilip is a bit drab in the second half of the film. The
lead actress also don't fare well in the movie. All in all it can attract the families to the theatres.
Aashiq Abu is here with his latest flick- Gangster, - a gangster story set mainly against the backdrop of Mangalore. Mammootty is the lead role as Akbar Ali who controls the city.
It is the usual story of fight for power, money and revenge. Mammootty enacts the role of Akbar in his usual style - stylish looks and dialogue delivery. Nyla Usha as Sana has less screen space in the movie, but is convincing with her role.
The main villain - Shekhar menon is with his career best performance. Kunchan, John Paul, Hareesh Peradi, Dileesh, Aparna, T G Ravi, have done justice to their roles. But the movie had many sequences which didn't have a proper finishing.
Though we don't expect anything new in Gangster stories other than revenge, the script was very lose.
The film is crime thriller which has voted as the most awaited Malayalam movie for 2014 in an online poll. The film is Mammootty all the way. On the whole, the movie Gangster works only for its different style, performances, music, visuals and the engaging climax sequences. Rest is pretty much average.
It's a perfect world that Jayaram and Meera Jasmine have built for themselves, along with their daughter. Everything around them seems to spell out bliss. It is common news that such heavens do not last for long. A bombshell soon drops in, much to the couples chargin. It is not the first time ever that we are watching the tale of a wayward hubby on screen.
In 1981 tha famous Director Bharathan spun a beautiful romantic story titled Parankimala. Though slow it really captured the heart of the then generation and moved to become one of the superhits of the time.
As a pure adaptation of a story based from a novel it has suffered many setbacks. The veteran superstar has tried to recreate his own characters from old movies and the viewer feels repetition.Definitely the Kottayam slang makes us remember his own wonderful roles. So naturally it fails to impress the viewers and hold their interest. The female heroines has no performance oriented roles and their ignorance of the language is reflected in the portrayal of the characters. It has a very big star cast, but stills fails to establish any difference. The effort of recreating novels does not always bear fruit. But as the favourite star of the majority .
On the second round Kunchako got the approval of his followers due to his selection of different roles. But in this film neither the script not the story line has any difference. The old story of lovers of different casts and their problems are respective, It is like old wine in a new bottle.
The performance of the actors though good doesn’t hold the attention span of the general viewers. Sarayu, Sobha Mohan, Shine Tom chacko are also included in the cast.
After the success of Left Right Left, the party supporters were so hiked that they were for a movie of the same gender. Thus comes the true life story of veteran leaders like Krishna Pillai, A K Gopalan & E M S Namboodiripad. The characters are portrayed strongly by Samudrakani, Mukesh, Sidhique etc. Sudheesh, Ramesh Pisharadi, Shari etc are other cast. Though the leaders were so thrilled for its release, the film didn’t generate expected interest. There is no flock of followers in the theatres. Coming few week may change the tide for better.
Hangover show cases four friends from different tiers of society and how despite their devil-may-case personas, rise up to tackle an incident in their lives.
The movie narrates the story of love, friendship and revenge in the background of IT park
It is the story of three intimate friends and the problems which arise in their life during a night journey, Kishore(Siddhartha Siva) is in Calcutta and is in search of a good job.
Bramman is directed by Socrates, a former associate of Universal Star Kamal Hassan. The film is produced by popular Kannada producer and distributor K Manju along with Anto Joseph from Kerala. The film features newbie Lavanya Tripathi in the female lead role. Naveen Chandra, Santhanam, Soori, Jayaprakash and others are in the supporting cast
The film is laced with romance, comedy, action and sentiments
However, there are too many speed breakers due to songs thrust into the narration and the pace slackens especially in the first half. The movie picks up in the post –interval with a well worked out climax that is sure to appeal to the family audiences.
Director Sunil Karyattukara`s Pakida is a thriller movie.
Pakida tells the story of Aadi (Asif Ali)who meets a mysterious and concealing traveler George Koshy Anthrapper (Biju Menon) and travels with him from Kochi to Madurai. On their way, they come across two other characters Sunny and Kani who change their lives
Pakida is an outrage against a brutal act by a devil. The makers of this film had lots to narrate, but it was just that they were not really sure on exactly how to go with it. Now, the decision is all yours!
The story narrates the life of a young man from Fort Kochi named Aaron (Jayasurya),who loses his eyesight during his school days in an accident who then to find a place in the Indian cricket team for the blind.
the highlight of the film is a dedicated performance from Jayasurya, who essays the role of a visually challenged youth in a remarkable way. The heroine, Aparna Gopinath, has nothing much to do.
This is not bad film, but could have been much better, if it were made with more passion.
